This circa 1875-1910 tin contains US steel pens and is a noteworthy piece of history. The tin showcases the durability and reliability of US steel used in the production of pens during this time period, making it a valuable addition to any collection.  1.75" across, hinged lid tin from Miller Bros of Meriden CT.  Great image area on tin with some of the brassy colored area around it and on bottom that has oxidized slightly or has some pitting.  Also included,  12 antique fountain pen nibs.  The companies represented in this lot are:  J.L. Isaacs & Co., Ivison & Phinney & Co., Heintze & Blankert, and Hunt Silverine.  Some of these calligraphy nibs were used many years ago.  Still displays wonderfully thanks to the bright lithograph colors.  Would have contained pen tips in its day.  The first hinged tins came on the scene in 1875 so that helps to date this item.  Rare Find.
